Urgent Band Booster Meeting Thursday, September 18, 2014

WHS Band Parents,

We will be having an urgent band booster meeting this Thursday  September, 18, 2014 to finalize the plans for the upcoming competition we are hosting on 9-27-14. We need all parents in attendance for this very important meeting.

The meeting will start at 6:30pm in the band room. Please make plans to join us. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday!!!

Saturday, September 20, 2014 Landrum Competition

WHS Band Parents & Students,

This Saturday we will have our first competition in Landrum. Below is the schedule:

9:00am- Students need to e at the school ready to rehearse

11:00am-Finish Rehearsal

11:00-12:30- Eat, dress and load the trailer

1:30pm-Arrive at Landrum

3:10pm-Warm Up

3:55pm- at the gate

4:00pm- Performance

9:00pm- Awards

Expected arrival time back at WHS is between 10:30pm-11:00pm. All students need to bring money for concessions. The band boosters will provide snacks and water only.

Make sure to have long black socks not ankle socks. All students need tow ear their summer uniforms. They will wear that under their band uniforms.

We will need to feed the students lunch. We will be serving chicken salad sandwiches, chips and fruit.

The band boosters will provide the sandwiches. We need the following items donated:

-individual bags of lunch chips

-watermelon, grapes, pineapple

We also need a few cases of water, powerade and snacks donated for competitions for the students.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday for the competition.

Friday 9.19.14 Home Game Dinner

WHS Band Parents & Students,

This Friday we have a home football game at WHS. We will be serving the following:

-Hot Dogs/Chili Dogs

-Macaroni and Cheese

-Salad

The band boosters will supply the hot dogs and chili. We need the following items donated:

-2 crock pots of mac n cheese

-hot dog buns (140 buns)

-2 large pans of salad

-Italian dressing/ranch dressing

Urgent Message from Mrs Cotter!!!!!!

WHS Band Parents & Students,

Due to the forecast for inclement weather the WHS Band will not be going to the away football game tonight!!!! There will be no rehearsal this afternoon.

For those parents that are donating items for dinner we will need those items for lunch tomorrow. We will be serving the taco bar for lunch tomorrow before we leave for the exhibition at North Greenville University.

For Saturday, September 13, 2014 all Leadership students need to be at the school by 9am. The rest of the band needs to arrive by 12 noon. The kids will rehearse and we will feed them lunch prior to our departure.

Saturday 9-13-14 North Greenville Band Exhibition

WHS Band Parents & Students,

Below is the schedule for this Saturday:

9am-Leadership Meeting at WHS (Bring money for lunch)

12:30pm-Band(be ready to ready to rehearse!!!!-don’t arrive at 12:30, arrive no later than 12:15! We will practice on football field if possible. Please eat lunch prior to your arrival)

3:15pm-Depart for North Greenville

5:00pm-Warm Up

5:40pm-Perform

8:30pm-Mass America The Beautiful Performance

Immediately following the final performance we will depart for WHS.

9:30pm approximate arrival time back to WHS

All students will need to wear their summer uniforms to the event. It may be cool in the evening. Students are asked to bring  a jacket. All students will also need to bring money for concessions for dinner.

Help Needed!!!!!!

Calling all WHS Band Parents,

We are in need of a parent volunteer to pull the small band trailer for this Friday (9-12-14)nights away game at Riverside. If you can help with this please contact Mrs. Pooley, Mrs. Cotter or Mr. Cothran.

We cant get the instruments to the game without the trailer!!!

We are also still in need of a few donations for dinner on Friday. Without them we will have trouble feeding the students. We still need the following items:

Sour Cream

Rice

Re Fried Beans

If you can help with any of the food items please let Mrs. Pooley know.

9.12.14 friday Football Dinner

WHS Band Parents & Students,

We will be serving a Taco Bar for this Friday’s Game. The Band Boosters will supply the meat. We need the following items for the dinner:

-Tortilla Chips (4 bags)

-Shredded cheese (2 large bags)

-Shredded Lettuce

-Sour Cream (2 large containers)

-refried beans (2 small pans)

-Spanish rice (2 small pans)

-Taco Sauce (3 bottles)

-Soft Tortillas

Important Message from Mrs Cotter

Good Evening,

For this Friday’s game all students will need to wear their show shirt and khaki shorts with white socks and white tennis shoes. The shorts we ordered are supposed to be in on Friday. In case they don’t make it all students are asked to bring  a pair of khaki shorts with them. The Band will be performing the opening song to the show.

We look forward to seeing everyone for our first home game of the season.

WHS Band Fruit Sales Start Friday, September 5, 2014

Good Evening WHS Band Parents & Students,

The annual WHS Band Fruit Fundraiser will begin this Friday, September 5, 2014 and will run through the end of October. Fruit will be delivered the first week in December. All Band students will bring home the fundraising information on Thursday evening.

We will also have on line sales available. The fruit fundraiser is an important fundraiser for the band that helps provided needed funds for instruments and operational funds for the band. Please help support us by ordering some fruit!!!
